Edgewater | Lake Wanaka Waterfront Hotel

Long ago, Chief Rākaihautū led the Waitaha tribe to Wanaka in giant dugout canoes called "Waka". Legend has it that during Rākaihautū's exploration of New Zealand's South Island, he used his oars to carve out Lake Wanaka and the surrounding peaks. This place thus became the "Wananga" shrine of the Waitaha tribe—a repository of the tribe's wisdom.

Fast forward to the 1970s, a four-hectare plot of land, boasting unobstructed views right up to the lake shore, was chosen, and the "Lake Wanaka Waterfront Hotel" was born. This property, with its world-class stunning scenery, is highly regarded for its uniqueness. It was jointly invested by 57 shareholders and comprises 65 ownership units with a total of 106 rooms.
