Harris Mountains Heli-Ski (HMH) is one of New Zealand's largest and oldest heli-skiing operators. It operates from multiple locations on New Zealand's South Island, including Queenstown, Wanaka, and the Aoraki/Mount Cook region. It offers skiers and snowboarders the unrestricted experience of skiing through powder, using helicopters to reach undeveloped or less-traveled high-altitude areas.

Skiing routes and experiences

We offer various packages with different number of runs per day: such as beginner's packages, 4 runs, 5 runs, 7 runs, and 10 runs per day. The more runs, the higher the intensity and the more advanced the skiing skill required.

There are skill requirements for skiers/skateboarders: Strong intermediate level or above is preferred, capable of handling both blue (intermediate) and black (advanced) runs; beginner options are also available, but be prepared for the challenges of physical exertion and changes in altitude/snow conditions.

Skiing experience for experienced skiers
The minimum age is 13 years old, and all guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Booking & Confirmation Process

The helicopter operating company will determine the specific taxiing route based on a combination of factors, including the weather and snow conditions of the day.
Reservations are confirmed upon payment; advance planning and booking are recommended, as the trip may not be possible if the number of participants is insufficient.
Book at least 3 days in advance; for example, for a heli-skiing trip on August 4th, payment must be completed before August 1st.
We need skiing videos from every participant; and you must complete the registration at the store at least one day in advance during business hours (if you are unable to...).
(If the travel cannot be completed due to failure to complete the procedures in a timely manner, no refund or changes will be issued.)
Around 6:30 am that morning, you will receive a text message notification regarding whether you will be flying that day.
After making payment and booking, you will receive an email or booking confirmation number from the helicopter company.

Cancellations & Refunds

A full refund is guaranteed only if we receive your cancellation notice at least 4 days prior to your flight for heli-skiing or private charter.
Any cancellations made within this period prior to departure will retain full payment.
If severe weather prevents your flight, you will receive a full refund or can reschedule.
No refund will be given if you are unable to complete the slide due to lack of ability or physical fitness.
