General Introduction
Hoshino Resorts Tomamu is the largest integrated resort under the Hoshino Resorts group, located in the Tomamu area in central Hokkaido. Spanning approximately 1,000 hectares, it is one of the largest integrated ski resorts in Hokkaido and has been selected as one of the "Top Ten Theme Park Hotels in the World." Tomamu Resorts is renowned for its high-quality powder snow, which is almost completely dry, providing an excellent snow experience for skiers. In addition to two main hotels, the resort boasts a variety of facilities including Smile Beach, Forest Bath, Water Chapel, and the winter-limited Ice City and Fog Ice Observatory, making it a perfect one-stop vacation destination for families, couples, and ski enthusiasts.
Number of Rooms
The resort mainly consists of two hotels offering different levels of accommodation:
The Tower is a prominent landmark within the resort, consisting of two 36-story twin towers. It has a total of 765 rooms. Rooms typically range from 24-27 square meters, featuring simple and bright decor, high cost-performance, and a prime location in the resort's center, offering convenient access to all cable car facilities for true ski-in/ski-out access.
RISONARE Tomamu is positioned at a higher level, with all rooms being suites exceeding 100 square meters. Each suite includes a panoramic Jacuzzi and sauna, offering greater privacy and catering to guests seeking a luxurious stay.
Service Features
Snowtomamu Resort is renowned for its diverse services and activities:
For skiing, the resort boasts 29 ski runs covering Mount Tomamu at an altitude of 1239 meters, totaling 21.5 kilometers in length, suitable for skiers of all levels from beginner to advanced. Ski equipment rental is available, and a ski school offers courses from beginner to advanced, including group lessons and private lessons. There is also a dedicated children's ski area and children's ski lessons.
The hot spring facilities include the Forest Bath, an open-air hot spring with stunning snow views, perfect for a relaxing soak after skiing. There's also Smile Beach, one of Japan's largest indoor artificial wave pools, where the water temperature is maintained at around 30 degrees Celsius, allowing you to enjoy a "summer" feeling year-round.
Winter-limited activities include Ice City, a dreamlike town entirely made of ice, featuring an ice bar, ice chapel, ice slides, and more. The Fog Ice Observatory offers a cable car ride to the summit to admire the spectacular "fog ice" phenomenon formed by trees encased in snow and ice.
Dining options are plentiful, with over 30 restaurants and bars offering a variety of cuisines from Japanese to international. The most famous is the Forest Restaurant, whose massive glass walls create the illusion of dining in a forest.
